The Gigabyte Z790 D AX is an ATX enthusiast motherboard built on the flagship Intel Z790 Express chipset. Featuring the LGA1700 socket, it natively supports 12th, 13th, and 14th Generation Intel® Core™, Pentium® Gold, and Celeron® processors, providing an outstanding platform for high-end gaming rigs, workstation setups, and heavy multitasking.

Power delivery is handled by a 16+1+1 Twin Digital VRM design (60A DrMOS) backed by fully covered MOSFET heatsinks with enlarged surface coverage to maintain steady voltage delivery and low operational temperatures under continuous CPU boosts and overclocking. It features four DDR5 DIMM slots supporting up to 256GB of dual-channel system memory with high-speed memory tuning (up to 7600+ MHz O.C.) via Extreme Memory Profile (Intel® XMP 3.0).

For expansion and high-speed storage, the board offers a primary PCIe 5.0 x16 graphics slot protected by PCIe UD stainless-steel armor, three PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 slots equipped with M.2 Thermal Guard heatsinks, and six SATA 6Gb/s ports supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 configurations.
